A dependable opener that doesn’t rely on a chain, belt or screw.
A direct drive opener is one that doesn’t depend on a chain, belt, or screw type operation to open and close the door. There are two main types of direct drive openers, one where the motor crawls along the chain to open the door and one where the motor is attached on the wall and turns the torsion spring bar to open and close the door. Both of these are dependable and work well, but are somewhat slow when operating.
If you have vaulted ceilings or require maximum storage space in your garage, a direct drive opener is perfect for you because it takes up very little space. Since they have only one moving part, direct drive openers don’t require a lot of maintenance to keep them working like they should.
